Corn Bred’s brand new CD Rez-Bomb has been nominated for Best Blues Recording. Corn Bred graciously donated the title track, Rez-Bomb, to the 2011 Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival LIVE CD! Their song Jingle Dress Dancer can be heard on the 2010 Best of the Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival CD.

Flute Meditations by David Searching Owl for Best New Age Recording. You’ll hear Owl & Dove’s three songs including the title track Just Blowin Smoke from their brand new CD on the 2011 Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival LIVE CD. You can also hear the contemporary harmonies of Owl & Dove on the 2010 Best of the Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival CD.

Turtle’s Race for Bear off the new CD Just for Kids by Deborah New Moon Rising of The Storytellers for Spoken Word Recording. Storytellers graciously donated this title track to the 2010 Best of the Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival CD. Jonny Lipford’s Breeze @ 72 Degrees has been nominated in the Native Heart category. Jonny Lipford was new to our stage this year. He brought youthful vitality and has donated three songs to our 2011 Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival LIVE CD.

Donald Blackfox’s Color of Hope CD, which he co-produced with Kelly Montijo Fink, has been nominated for Best Compilation.

The Color Of Hope, a compilation CD by Spirit Wind Records & Promotions, owned by Donald Blackfox of the Thunder Hawk Singers, is comprised of 18 First Nation female artists, which seeks to improve the lives of battered women, their children, and others impacted by domestic violence. 40% of the profit goes to help battered women’s shelters and programs throughout the nation. J.J. Kent who’s Lakota prayer opened our festival and now graces the 2011 Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival LIVE CD has been nominated for Artist of the Year!

And…..

Remember Sayani, the delightful mother and daughter duo the Native Circle brought to Syracuse this past June? Well…they have been nominated for Best Duo/Group for Breakaway. Sayani donated the track, Breakaway, to the Color of Hope Project.

And….

Joseph Firecrow, who performed for our audiences in years past, has been nominated for Song Single of the the Year.

What an incredible line-up of talented, heart-warming, gracious and successful artists the Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival has gathered to its stage over the years! Maybe I’ll be able to tell you after Oct 7th that they are all bringing home a 2011 Native American Music Award.
